Reseller

WISPGate supports a reseller model that enables service providers (owners) to extend their operations by onboarding resellers who can manage and sell services under the main provider’s platform. It is designed to maintain operational independence for resellers while ensuring oversight and control from the owning entity.

Resellers have their own data scope

Each reseller in WISPGate operates within an independent data environment. This means:

  • Resellers can only view and manage their own:
    • Subscribers
    • Services and packages
    • Devices (e.g., routers, NAS)
    • Sites and IP addresses
    • Billing and payment data
  • They cannot access or modify data belonging to other resellers or the owner’s direct customers.
  • System features such as reports, analytics, and user interfaces are scoped specifically to the reseller’s assigned environment

Resellers are under the owner Hierarchy

In the WISPGate architecture, resellers sit directly under the owner account. The hierarchy is as follows:

Owner → Reseller → Subscribers
  • The owner retains ultimate administrative control, including:
    • Creating or disabling reseller accounts
    • Setting resource limits
    • Monitoring usage and performance
  • Resellers can act as mini-ISPs under the owner’s umbrella, with the autonomy to manage their subscriber base and services.

Reseller Isolation

WISPGate enforces strict reseller isolation, meaning:

  • Each reseller’s environment is logically and operationally separated.
  • There is no crossover in data visibility or control between resellers.
  • Even if multiple resellers are using the same backend system (under one owner), they function as entirely separate entities within WISPGate.

This allows for secure multitenancy, especially important when resellers are operating in the same geographic or network space.

Whitelabeling (Only based on Owners)

Whitelabeling in WISPGate, customizing the platform to reflect specific branding is currently only supported at the owner level. This means:

  • The owner’s branding, such as platform name, theme, login page design, and primary color scheme, is what end-users and resellers will see.
  • Resellers do not get full whitelabeling controls but can still customize limited visual elements.
  • Full whitelabel support for individual resellers (e.g., isolated domains or custom dashboards) may be considered in future platform upgrades.
